August Round-up

August

All the things that didn't need a blog post to themselves.

1. Me and my boyfriend at a wedding- My dress is TFNC  (but I got it from ASOS) and my clutch is from New Look. Side note: Am I the only one who pronounces it A-S-O-S, as in the individual letters?

2. Monochrome drippy and glitter mix with triangle gems. LOVE this combo (If I do say so myself!)

3. An outfit I wore out to meet some friends one evening. Shirt is from Topshop (but I got it for £4 at Battersea car boot sale), shorts are from Internacionale. I am also wearing my beloved Wild Fox ring but you can't see it.

4. Nude nails with gold glitter on top.

5. Birthday cheesecake I made for my sister, it was honey and pistachio flavour.

6. A casual outfit for a day in the park with my boyf. Jumper from Wildfox, shorts again from Internacionale. As you can see, these shorts have been a big hit with me this month!

7. Another casual outfit which I wore to traipse round Homesense and Asda with my mum (glam alert). Top-Internacionale, Jeans- Topshop, Satchel-Primark. Is anyone else's mum obsessed with Homesense? Whenever I go back to Bristol the house is full of bags from Homesense- if she's not buying it all she's taking it all back to exhange for more! To be fair it does have some bargains (it is the same company as TK Maxx dontcha know) including various antlers/stag heads which I am determined to display in our flat one day.

So summer 2013 has come to an end. I'm sad that the nights will be drawing in, the mornings will be dark and that I will have to start putting on tights (I hate tights). But I am looking forward to snuggling, purchasing a new coat/new boots and my birthday :)!

It Was My Mom's in the 80s

Kimono Vintage
Cami ASOS
Disco Pants American Apparel
Shoes New Look
Necklace River Island
Rings River Island/H&M

'OMG I love your skirt, where did you get it?'
'It was my mom's in the 80s'
'Vintage...so adorable'
'Thanks!'
'...That is the ugliest effing skirt I've ever seen'

If you don't know which film that quote is from, firstly I am ashamed and disappointed and secondly I suggest you go and watch Mean Girls right now. NOW.

But seriously, this kimono was my mum's (maybe a little earlier than the 80s!) and I definitely don't think it's effing ugly, I think it's effing beaut. I think she picked it up in India on her travels when she was younger, and now I have stolen  inherited it. I find it a bit difficile to outfit build with as it is so colourful so I thought I would make it the statement in an all black outfit. I also want to invest in this cute playsuit as the colour would allow the pink in the floral embroidery to stand out.

Update on my previous OOTD post, I have found both my moisturiser (in the wardrobe abyss as predicted) and my camera charger (behind my mirror-obviously) so at least today as been productive. I also went to my boyfriend's sisters for a BBQ which was lovely, there was even a cake in the shape of a penis. I kid you not-see my instagram to witness it in its full glory (@iwishicouldwink).

I hope everyone had a fun-filled weekend :)

OOTD: New Primark cardigan and some friends!

Cardigan Primark
Shirt Uniqlo
Skirt Primark
Boots River Island
Necklace Primark

I wore this outfit to my internship this week, before visiting my boyfriend's sister and her little lads, one of whom is featured above. How adorable are his skeleton PJs? I want to wear them for Halloween! That other cute critter is Rosie the cat. She looks crazed in the photo, which pretty much sums her up perfectly. She is still my favourite though.

I have two main points about this outfit, firstly that I heart my new fluffy pink cardigan-especially with the texture of the skirt, and secondly that I really hate it when shirts gape open. I've heard that M&S do a non-gap-ey one, I think I'm gonna have to have a look.

Also, apologies for the over-exposure of these photos, I had to use my iPhone to take them as all the batteries in my camera weren't working and I didn't have my charger. I still don't know where it is. Along with my new moisturiser, it has completely disappeared. Well I say disappeared-the more likely option is that they have both fallen through the slats at the top of my wardrobe into the sea of shoes that lie at the bottom. Please wish me luck in finding them.

OOTD: Black and Neon Black and Neon

Dress The White Pepper
Sandals Zara
Bag Primark
Necklace New Look

This neon satchel is my new favourite thing. I found it in the Bristol Primark (which is definitely my favourite Primark, FYI) all lonely by itself, so of course it would have been cruel not to take it home. When I got my Cambridge Satchel I was debating whether or not to get a neon one but decided on a classic colour , so I love that I found this copy for only £9 :)

This dress from The White Pepper is my other favourite thing, it's so cute and comfortable! I went to a charity event with my friend Becky (check her blog out here)  at the Sanderson hotel and The White Pepper were there, the girls were lovely and it made me determined to own one of their dresses. They've just realised their AW line and now I'm majorly lusting after the Angel dress in leather . Such a cool brand!
